Eviation, the Israel-based company, is ready to start the world’s first all-electric airplane, Alice. Watch this video at Tech Insider in which Omer Bar-Yohay, CEO of Eviation, talks about the aircraft and its unique features. Alice can fly nine passengers and two crew members regionally at an affordable cost. The aircraft is ready to cover up to 650 miles on a one-time charge of the battery. It can carry passengers at a cruising speed of about 276 miles per hour. The $4 million aircraft offers direct operating costs of only $200 per flight per hour, which is about 40 to 80 percent less expensive than regular planes. Eviation claims to have 150 aircraft advance orders from undisclosed prospective operators.
