More than 40 U.S. states are making antitrust lawsuits against Facebook. They are also asking the court to take away the other brands under its control, namely Instagram and WhatsApp. Reporter Dan Patterson from CBS News reports that the allegation against the social media giant is regarding its buy-and-bury strategy. Facebook has also misused user data to find out emerging competitions. To prevent further growth, they would buy off such competitors like WhatsApp. The use of user data, in this case, is used illegally, which became the primary point of concern in the antitrust lawsuits.
