Why Should Apple Retain USB-C?

Apple first introduced the MagSafe in 2006, and it continued to be the go-to power connector for nearly a decade. MagSafe was incorporated into every one of Apple’s laptops, including MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air. MagSafe was phased out entirely in 2019 because the official model was proprietary and expensive. This led to often-unreliable knockoffs. Today, USB-C is the emerging standard for charging and transferring data. One undeniable advantage of USB-C over MagSafe is that it is compatible with all modern and mainstream laptops such as HP Spectre, Acer Swift, Asus ZenBook, and others.
