Why Is United Airlines Buying 200 Flying Taxis?

United Airlines Holdings Inc. has recently unveiled the acquisition of about 200 flying taxis from Archer, an electric aircraft startup. The deal would be worth $1 billion, confirms the air taxi developer. Watch this video at CNN to learn more about the agreement from Archer CEO Brett Adcock. The air taxis will be capable of flying 60 miles at 150 mph point-to-point. The revolutionary aircraft will take off and land like a conventional helicopter. The California-based startup is in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification process, and it will commence operations by 2024.
