Bird Enters the Consumer E-Bike Market

The kick-scooter rental company Bird has now entered the e-bike market. The company’s new smart-bike-share platform includes the ‘Bird Bike.’ Bird has a tie-in with various locally operated bike-sharing services for comprehensive mobility planning. In this video at Bloomberg Technology, Bird’s CEO Travis VanderZanden discusses the on-demand transit industry. Bird’s SPAC filing in May revealed massively unprofitable revenues. Therefore, the company diversified its business lines to leverage its position as a household name in micromobility. Bird Bike can reach up to 25 km/h.
